Time Commitment: Evening Shift (up to 9 PM) Department: Pediatrics, 12-12 Seagirt Boulevard, Far Rockaway NY The Physician Assistant is responsible for handling patient appointments and performing routine examinations to ensure patient health. Their duties include completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses, coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain updated medical records and speaking with their patients about healthy lifestyle choices for their age and circumstances. The Physician Assistant plays a crucial role in patient care, ensuring that it meets Premium Health’s CARE standards: Compassion, Agility, Respect, and Excellence. Responsibilities Performing initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations Prescribing medication, diagnosing illnesses and providing treatment Ordering, administering, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests Communicating test results to patients and their families Recording patient medical histories Developing and implementing treatment plans Operating and maintaining medical equipment Dictating and documenting all patient interactions Notifying managing physician about unusual or unexpected events or problems Effectively communicating with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, patients, and families Qualifications Master’s degree as a PA Current license/registration to practice Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion Ability to maintain highly confidential information Listening skills, empathy, and compassion Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills Excellent organization and time management skills even while under pressure Ability to provide accurate, effective care in stressful situations Benefits Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), NHSC Loan Repayment Program Paid Time Off Continuing Medical Education (CME) Medical, Dental, Vision and Life coverage 403(b) Retirement Plans with employer matching Compensation Commensurate with years of experience and credentials, $50- $65 per hour #J-18808-Ljbffr The Medical Society of the State of New York
