Limited coverage at our remote sites, Rush Oak Park Hospital and the Rush Lisle, is also expected.

Position Overview
• Support all aspects of medical physics services in a radiation oncology practice
• Multicenter role: coverage and travel between Chicagoland sites required
• Contribute to the institutional mission in patient care, teaching, and research
• Strong communication and teamwork skills essential
Qualifications
• ABR Part I passed (preferred)
• Completion of CAMPEP-approved residency by start date (individuals finishing residency will receive full consideration)
• Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and expertise

• Identify SGRT guidance on all Varian accelerators
• HDR suite with Bravos unit, Stryker OR CT, and BrachyVision TPS
• IORT brachytherapy (CivaSheet, GammaTile, etc.)
• Two 128-slice dual-energy large-bore Siemens open.go pro CT simulators

• One Halcyon linear accelerator
• One TrueBeam accelerator equipped with state-of-the-art capabilities
• A Multislice large-bore Brilliance Philips CT simulator
Rush Lisle
• One Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator equipped with state-of-the-art capabilities
• A multislice CT simulator
Treatment Planning & Systems (Across All Sites)
• Eclipse treatment planning system
• MIM and Radformation modules for segmentation and automation
• Comprehensive QA program with SunCheck as central repository
• Aria 16.1 RO-EMR integrated with Epic system-wide
Clinical & Research Programs
• Active programs in IGRT, IMRT, SRS, SBRT, HDR, Monte Carlo simulation, Thermal Imaging, and AI for organ segmentation
• Strong emphasis on clinical innovation and research

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Pay Range: $190,000 - $230,000

Summary:
Provide physics services to the Radiation Oncology Department in accordance with the highest standards of practice as required by regulatory agencies. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and ICARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Other information:
Required Job Qualifications:
•Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics or related discipline.
•Board certified by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics in Radiation Therapy Physics.
•Two years clinical experience in radiation therapy department under the preceptorship of a physicist certified by the American Board or Radiology in Therapy Physics or Radiological Physics.
•Experience shall include calibration of linear accelerators and other radiation sources, clinical dosimetry of external
beams and implant sources, patient set-up, and computer treatment planning.
Physical Demands:
•Ability to move heavy equipment for various clinical tasks.
Responsibilities:
RADIATION THERAPY QUALITY ASSURANCE
Weekly chart review.
Verify and calculate treatment times.
Verify and calculate dose distributions.
Perform periodic QA measurements on treatment machines and simulators.
Participate in reviewing department policies and procedures.
TREATMENT PLANNING CONSULTATION
Provides physics input in planning patients’ radiation therapy.
Provides dose estimates for various treatment geometry options.
RADIATION SAFETY
Assure safe operation of radiation equipment.
Assure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Participate in radiation safety site planning.
DATA ACQUISITION/MANAGEMENT
Acquire and analyze dosimetry data required for radiation dose calculations.
Commissioning of new machines and procedures.
Maintain and update dosimetry data.
RESEARCH/DEVELOPMENT
Work on projects that will enhance the quality and capability of our physics program.
Participate in the graduate and residency education programs.
