Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer

Ultrasound TechnicianProduces ultrasonic recordings of the heart for use by the Cardiologist in the diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction to patients as assigned by supervisors and given on the physician's written order for both in house and out patient care.Essential DutiesThis job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.Appropriately selects and uses equipment in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examinationAccurately explains process to patient and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examinationSupervises and trains student sonographers as requestedCommunicates with, assists, and reviews images with Cardiologist as needed or requestedResponsible for keeping all ultrasound equipmentCollects QI data as necessaryMay be required to perform other diagnostic procedures. Diagnostic procedures may include, cardiac stress testing, cardiac event monitoring, Echocardiograms, Electroencephalograms, Holter monitoring, and Electrocardiograms
