Moderate The facility is receiving a steady flow of submissions — a good time to get yours in Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and a KY or compact RN license. Details Uses Meditech EMR (experience preferred) Night shift rotation of 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) Works a 36/48 rotating schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period Floating required within scope of practice Every other weekend required Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated Requirements Active RN license (KY State or Compact) in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of current MS/Tele experience required 3-6 months of Level IV trauma or above experience preferred Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac drip management (no titration) Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE Driver's license required, with address matching permanent address Two professional references required: one from a Charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor, both completed within the last year Copy of certifications required for consideration Additional Information Provide nursing care to patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic patient populations Manage patients with conditions such as CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, renal failure, and post-cardiac procedures Administer medications including epidural analgesia, PCA, and heparin protocols per IV insulin protocols Perform sheath removal and TR band care for post-cardiac angiogram patients Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered and must be presented upfront with no changes accepted Must work either a major or minor shift on every holiday Travelers working in pairs will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit After working one year, travelers must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return to this system First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant Level IV experience These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
