Custodian

Full-Time Custodian OCSU is seeking a full-time Custodian to join our team. This position is a full-time (8 hours/day; 261 days/year) role serving both **Irasburg Village School** and **Glover Community School**. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with each school's Head Custodian to maintain school buildings and grounds to a high standard of **safety, cleanliness, and efficiency**. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience. Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent. * Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and recycling procedures. * General knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and security systems. * Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks. * Responsible, self-directed, dependable work habits with strong time management skills. * Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, students, administrators, vendors, and community members. * Working knowledge of school policies and procedures, including confidentiality. * Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. * Flexibility to respond to occasional building needs outside of the regular workday as necessary. Performance Responsibilities * Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of assigned school buildings and grounds. * Perform daily custodial duties, including cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas. * Assist the Head Custodians with routine maintenance, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance. * Support the operation of building systems and report maintenance concerns promptly. * Assist with seasonal responsibilities, including snow removal, sidewalk maintenance, and playground upkeep. * Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events and activities. * Assist with deliveries, inventory, recycling, and proper storage of custodial supplies. * Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. * Work cooperatively with administration and school staff to support the daily operation of both schools. * Perform other related duties as assigned.
