Senior Platform Engineer

Salary: $150,000 - 185,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
• We need hands-on AWS experience in production, including ECS/EKS, multi-account networking such as VPCs and security groups, and working through real infrastructure complexity.
• We expect practical infrastructure-as-code experience, with Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK used in production and adapted as requirements changed.
• We want demonstrated experience improving CI/CD pipelines in production, such as shortening build times, increasing reliability, and making deployments easier to troubleshoot.
• Bonus experience includes scientific computing, research infrastructure, ML platforms, or early-stage startups, especially research computing vendors.
• Bonus experience includes supporting GPU workloads in production, including code optimization, CUDA debugging, and job scheduler configuration.
• Bonus experience includes implementing authentication systems such as Auth0 or Okta, handling encryption with KMS, or contributing to compliance-focused infrastructure.
• Exposure to quantum computing SDKs such as Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane, or to hybrid classical-quantum workflows, is a plus, though genuine interest in quantum computing matters more than prior exposure.
• We are not seeking candidates who focus on enterprise-scale batch computing rather than cloud-native platform engineering.
• We are not seeking candidates who favor architectural purity over iterative delivery.

• We want ownership of our AWS infrastructure end to end, including actively shaping how it evolves rather than only maintaining it.
• We need someone to reduce friction in the deployment pipeline so developers can ship with confidence.
• We expect you to strengthen systems intentionally by tightening IAM roles, container images, and authentication flows with a clear view of real risk.
• You will build strong working relationships with platform engineers across PsiQuantum, including collaboration around HPC and GPU resources.
• You will help make deployments faster to release, easier to roll back, and less likely to fail.
• You will lead incident response and post-mortem reviews when needed.

We offer full-time roles with equity and benefits, and compensation is location-dependent, with U.S. base pay ranging from $150,000 to $170,000 and Bay Area pay ranging from $165,000 to $185,000.
