Job Description The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. Familiarity with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment is expected. This position follows BioLife Medical Affairs guidance and provides center-level EHS support. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies in accordance with SOPs, including implementing standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when there are unacceptable findings or guidance needed on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable (e.g., Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu). Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance. Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements (graduate equivalent). Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Ability to fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy (in-state licensure). Successful completion of FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience. Location USA - AZ - Phoenix Compensation U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $25.60 - $35.20. The actual wage offered depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The wage will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
