Certified Surgical Tech First Assist Opportunity - Per Diem This is a Per Diem Day shift opportunity. Location: Wellington Regional Medical Center, Wellington, Florida. Responsibilities The Certified Surgical Tech First Assistant (CSTFA) is a specialized tech who provides surgical assistance within the operating room and similar settings. Responsibilities include assisting the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures beyond the scope of practice for certified surgical techs, functioning interdependently with the surgeon, applying knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon in performing safe operations that yield optimal results for patients, and providing patient care for all ages and/or providing leadership and direction to the perioperative team during the perioperative phase as needed. The CSTFA does not concurrently function as the scrub tech. Qualifications Graduate of a surgical technology program. Graduate of an accredited surgical first assisting program. Surgical technician certification required. First assist certification required. 3–5 years of operating room experience. Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
