Food & Nutrition - Production Worker (6 hours) Job ID: 5499771 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Jan 15, 2026 5:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Location: HIGHLAND HILLS MIDDLE SCHOOL - Georgetown, Indiana Job Description TITLE: Production Worker - 6 hour shift (30 minute lunch break) DEPARTMENT: Food & Nutrition Services PAY GRADE 6: $15.55 to $16.61 hourly (based on experience and location) SCHEDULE: 180 days REPORTS TO: Food & Nutrition Services Site Manager SUMMARY: Performs routine food service activities related to the setting up of serving areas and the serving of food to students and staff; performs cashiering duties in the sale of food items to students and staff; maintains cleanliness of the food service facilities. Qualifications Previous commercial food service production experience desired Must be able to lift 10-50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop down and demonstrate manual dexterity on a frequent basis with or without reasonable accommodations A high school diploma or equivalent desired Able to work quickly in a busy cafeteria Experience in cashiering or a willingness to learn Willingness to learn, try new ideas, and grow professionally Responsibilities Assists with food production and uses all pieces of equipment provided on site. Practices procedures in food preparation, uses and maintains equipment and personal habits to assure that sanitation standards comply with federal, state and local regulations. Follows manager's instructions in producing, portioning, garnishing and serving of meals. Operates a cash register as needed. Assists with either the clean-up, operating the dish machine, and washing pots and pans. Demonstrates the ability to work with the school community. Performs other related duties as assigned by Site Manager and/or other designee. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout employment in the Corporation.
