Devops / Systems Engineer

Overview Leidos is looking to hire a DevOps / Systems Engineer to work on our Cloud Automation Advancements Team. The qualified candidate must have an active TS security clearance and will work hand‑in‑hand with technical and program management leadership to implement the next generation desktop and web‑based production and dissemination system. This position requires experience standing up and maintaining Windows servers in cloud environments, and the deployment and maintenance of custom code, COTS, and GOTS to those environments. This position involves leading systems administration and DevOps activities that support building and delivering new and innovative systems to implement analytics, exploitation, production and dissemination using web, remote desktop, and cloud technologies. Program core hours are 9 a.m.–3 p.m. ET. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, with schedule changes arranged as needed. Responsibilities Requires a BS in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree Must possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI post‑hire DoD 8570 compliance Experience with cloud/Amazon Web services (AWS) Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems System (hardware, software and networking) design and architecture Understanding of custom code development and reviews Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and workflow Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines Experience with GitLab functionality, error codes and scripting Experience with RedHat OpenShift Experience developing web apps with Python Proactive self‑starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills Organizational skills: can plan and prioritize work, follows tasks to their logical conclusion, and ensures everything is completed to the right standard with good attention to detail Communications: ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing; able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context Preferred Qualifications Experience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologies Experience using AWS services/technologies (e.g., CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS) Experience with AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, load balancing, auto‑scaling) Experience troubleshooting, configuring, and deploying Docker containers Experience writing, maintaining, and describing architecture diagrams Team collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat) Microsoft and/or AWS certifications Commitment to Non‑Discrimination All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, ethnicity, age, national origin, citizenship, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, family structure, marital status, ancestry, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
