Assistant Location Manager

Summary:Assists in directing production, distribution, quality control, and marketing operations for location or assigned territory of Heartland Co-op by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees as directed by the supervising Location Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Within parameters set by the supervising Location Manager, assist with the following:Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Heartland Co-op and Regional Manager.Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.Reviews expenses and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of location.Reviews operations and directs sales program to develop income and new markets.Location leadership of grain quality, inventory control and safety compliance initiatives.Directs preparation of accounting records (sales, inventory, prepay, and expenses) for the location.Recommends budgets to management.Fills responsibility role and function of location manager during site Location Manager’s absence.Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.Other duties as assigned by management.Supervisory Responsibilities:Within parameters set by Location Manager, Assistant Loc Mgr will directly supervises employees in the location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include involvement levels of interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.Math Ability:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS 400 accounting and inventory software.Certificates and Licenses:May be required to have a weighing license and a grain grading certificate.
