Reliability Technician (Mechanical Systems) – ManufacturingRole snapshot

Location: Niles, IL
Shift: First shift; choose an 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM start
Pay: $33–$38 per hour (Direct Hire)
Scope: Two production facilities; fast-paced environment

Core accountabilities

Own preventive maintenance programs to maximize uptime
Diagnose and repair primarily mechanical faults; address light electrical issues
Respond rapidly to downtime events to support production throughput
Service presses, converting lines, conveyors, and packaging machinery
Perform fabrication and component rebuilds (machining: lathe/mill; welding: MIG/TIG)
Record work in CMMS; maintain accurate maintenance documentation
Assist with new equipment installation, setup, and commissioning

Equipment you’ll support

Offset printing presses
Die cutters, foil stampers, folder/gluers
Paper cutters and conveyor systems
Forklifts and pallet trucks
General production and packaging assets

Technical emphasis

Approximately 80% mechanical and 20% electrical with heavy hands-on troubleshooting.

Must-have experience

5+ years in industrial maintenance within manufacturing
Strong mechanical troubleshooting capability
Machining (lathe, mill) and welding (MIG/TIG)
Independent diagnostic and repair skills
Experience in high-throughput environments (packaging, printing, food, or related)

Nice to have

Technical certifications
Background in printing, paper, or packaging facilities
