Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Southern New Jersey

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts with every other weekend rotation (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). One holiday required per contract. No on-call required. 24 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit specializing in stroke/neuro and respiratory care with a 36-bed capacity and daily census of 26 adult patients
• Diverse case mix including primary stroke patients, respiratory failure management (high flow, BiPAP, chronic trach/vents), and patients requiring close monitoring
• Opportunity to work with cardiac drip titration (Cardizem, Cardene, Nitroglycerine), Precedex drips, peritoneal dialysis, and telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Floating required to similar units only – no floating outside scope of practice
• First-time travelers welcome with at least 1 year of PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey RN license or compact state license at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit, Stepdown, IMC, or DOU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Clinical competencies including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula), central line management, blood product administration, wound care, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with ventilated patients, chest tubes, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, and isolation precautions
• Proficiency in pre/post cardiac cath care, stroke/TPA protocols, neurosurgery patients, and management of various critical conditions
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Completion of compliance requirements including background checks, lab work, and clinical assessment exam
