Role Description The Construction Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurnee, IL. This position oversees commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, coordinating schedules, subcontractors, and site activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The role includes managing contracts, budgets, and change orders; monitoring project progress; and preparing regular status reports for internal stakeholders and clients. The Construction Project Manager collaborates with architects, engineers, and vendors, leads project meetings, and ensures compliance with building codes, quality standards, and company policies. The position also supports risk management, problem resolution on the job site, and continuous improvement of project delivery processes. Qualifications Demonstrated ability in Construction Project Management and Construction Management for commercial projects. Strong Project Management and Project Coordination skills to plan, organize, and track project activities. Proficiency in Budgeting, cost control, and management of contracts and change orders. Experience with scheduling tools, construction documents, and coordination with architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices in construction. Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Prior experience managing commercial construction projects in a general contracting or construction management environment.
