Contract Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs – Neurology / Rare DiseaseLocation: Remote (EST)Duration: Through March 2027 (Potential for Extension/Conversion) Bill Rate: Market (~$250/hr)Position SummaryOur client, a leading global immunology biotechnology company, is seeking an experienced Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs to support the Global Medical team focused on a late-stage rare neuromuscular program. This consultant will play a key role in executing Medical Affairs strategy, evidence generation initiatives, and launch readiness activities while partnering closely with Clinical Development and cross-functional stakeholders.The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of independence and immediately contribute to strategic Medical Affairs initiatives supporting both ongoing Phase III and early-stage clinical programs.ResponsibilitiesServe as the Medical Affairs representative on cross-functional clinical development teams supporting both Phase III and Phase I studies. Execute Integrated Evidence Generation Plans (IEGPs) and broader evidence generation strategy. Lead and support real-world evidence (RWE) initiatives, medical planning, and data generation activities. Partner closely with Clinical Development, Commercial, Regulatory, and other cross-functional teams to support global medical strategy. Contribute to launch readiness activities for a late-stage rare disease asset. Support publication planning, scientific communications, and evidence dissemination activities. Identify evidence gaps and contribute to strategic medical planning throughout the product lifecycle. Work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment. QualificationsRequiredMD, PharmD, or PhD. Neurology and/or rare disease experience. Minimum of 5 years of Medical Director-level experience within Global Medical Affairs. Experience developing and executing Integrated Evidence Generation Plans (IEGPs). Strong background in Real-World Evidence (RWE) and evidence generation strategy. Experience supporting late-stage clinical development and pre-launch/launch activities. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Strong strategic thinking, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills. PreferredNeuromuscular disease experience preferred. Experience supporting both Phase III and early clinical development programs. Experience with publications, investigator-sponsored studies, registries, and post-marketing evidence generation. Global Medical Affairs experience within biotechnology or pharmaceutical organizations.
