Medical Review OfficerTravel Requirement: 0-5% Occasional travel to headquarters in Arlington, VA.Teleworking: YesFull-Time/Part-Time: Full-TimeFLSA Status: ExemptPay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Job Summary:The Medical Review Officer utilizes clinical expertise to review applicant medical records against appropriate criteria in conjunction with US Government contract medical requirements.Duties/Responsibilities:Some of your duties may include:Performs accurate and timely submission of all medical review related documents to appropriate partiesMaintains medical records confidentiality through proper use of computer passwords, maintenance of secured files, in accordance with HIPAA polices and Protected Health Information best practices.Fosters positive and professional relationships and act as liaison with vendors to ensure effective working relationships and team building in order to facilitate the medical review processUnder general supervision including that of the Director of Medical Programs and Operational Medical Director (OMD), is responsible for the interpretation and analysis of medical examination results in accordance with contractual and regulatory guidelines for various occupational examination and screeningsExercises exceptional attention to detail in the review of examination resultsApplies contractual and regulatory guidelines and interprets nuances of exam resultsMaintains a solid understanding of the specific contract's guidelines, requirements, and addendumsParticipates in process improvement reviews on policies, objectives, and department operationsCoordinates and oversees daily activities of Medical Support Specialists to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with operational requirements.Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:• Must possess National or State Paramedic license• Must possess minimum five (5) years of clinical experience• Two (2) of these years must be in an administrative capacity• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government SECRET Clearance• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and AdobeWork Environment:Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.Physical Requirements:Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach during shifts. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies.
