Job Overview

We are seeking a highly creative Graphic Designer to translate complex medical, military, and strategic information into high-impact visual communications at WRNMMC. You will manage visual products end-to-end—from concept through prepress and digital production—ensuring all visuals maintain brand standards, meet accessibility guidelines, and safeguard patient privacy.

Key Responsibilities

· Design command-level publications, public health campaigns, patient education materials, infographics, digital signage, and environmental graphics.

· Perform Section 508 accessibility remediation across all print and digital assets (screen reader tags, color contrast, alt-text).

· Manage a high volume of concurrent design requests, production calendars, and stakeholder feedback workflows.

· Translate scientific and clinical data into intuitive infographics and visual storytelling aids for diverse audiences.

· Collaborate with public affairs writers, videographers, and leadership to build cohesive campaign visuals.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communications, or a related field.

· Experience: 5+ years of professional graphic design experience (portfolio required showing branding, publication layout, and data visualization).

· Technical Mastery: Advanced mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and digital/pre-press file preparation.

· Compliance & Domain: Prior experience in healthcare communications or military public affairs; thorough understanding of HIPAA / PHI privacy rules.

· On-Site Requirement: Must be willing and able to work 100% on-site at WRNMMC in Bethesda, MD.

* This position is contingent upon contract award. Hiring and start date are subject to final award notification for the Hospital Communications and Executive Secretariat Support Services contract at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC).
