Caregiver Opportunity

Shifts available:

• Daily: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Daily: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• Sunday Overnight: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM

We are seeking a calm, compassionate caregiver to support an older adult returning home during a highly fragile stage of life. This individual spent decades serving others in a leadership role and now needs patient, respectful assistance as physical needs increase. The home environment requires a caregiver who can provide excellent hands-on care while preserving dignity, emotional comfort, and a sense of partnership.

This is not a task-focused assignment. Success comes from building trust, providing reassurance, and creating a calm presence for both members of the household.

Care responsibilities include:

• Stand-pivot transfers with gait belt support
• Bed bath assistance and personal care
• Toileting and incontinence support
• Mobility supervision and fall prevention
• Emotional reassurance and companionship
• Household support to help maintain a safe, comfortable environment

Ideal caregiver qualities:

• Experience with transfers, personal care, and mobility assistance
• Comfortable supporting individuals experiencing cognitive decline
• Patient, gentle communication style
• Ability to provide step-by-step cueing during care activities
• Strong understanding of dignity-centered care
• Experience supporting families navigating serious illness or hospice care is a plus
• Able to work collaboratively with a spouse living with dementia who remains actively involved in caregiving

Qualifications:

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Supportive and compassionate
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Take pride in providing high quality care

• Protect dignity during all personal care activities
• Maintain a calm, steady emotional presence throughout the shift

Overnight shift information:

• Overnight caregiver will rest in a hospital bed located in the same room as the client
