Pediatric Otolaryngologist

Phoenix Children’s is seeking a BC/BE fellowship‑trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist to join a full‑time team of surgeons and advanced practice providers in a rapidly growing Arizona market.

Position Duties

• Provide comprehensive patient care, including inpatient and outpatient services, subspecialty consultations, diagnostics, and therapeutic procedures, with an emphasis on urgent or emergent care when required.
• Strive for best patient‑ and family‑centered care, support hospital patient‑satisfaction goals, adhere to patient‑safety and quality standards, and practice contemporary evidence‑based medicine.
• Carry out divisional responsibilities: achieve annual physician goals; support medical‑education programs by supervising trainees and allied‑health professionals, conducting teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences; participate in research initiatives; and contribute to programmatic growth.
• Maintain professionalism by treating colleagues, employees, and patients with courtesy, dignity, and respect; promote a safe, cooperative, and professional health‑care environment; and uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
• Engage in additional responsibilities such as acting as liaison in the professional community, conducting teaching activities outside the institution when they support divisional programs, representing the organization in medical and business communities, and performing essential physical and mental skills required for the role (e.g., effective communication, after‑hours or night call, regular work hours).

Position Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in pediatric otolaryngology (or the appropriate specialty).
• Current Arizona medical license or the ability to obtain it prior to starting employment.
• Proficiency in moving freely among facilities and examining patients across locations.
• Strong communication skills via telephone, computer, or other devices.
• Availability to perform after‑hours or night‑call duties as needed.
• Commitment to regular scheduled work hours and the ability to work well under pressure.

Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure

• Physical proficiency in fine motor skills, hearing, speaking, and hand‑to‑hand manipulation; ability to lift up to 35 pounds with or without assistance.
• Ability to stand, sit, reach, push, pull, and stoop/crouch/kneel/crawl as required.
• Habitual use of keyboards, mice, and computer equipment.
• Exposure to an indoor office environment, airborne communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, airborne particles, hazardous materials, radiation, and toxic chemicals.
