Job Title

RN II – Step Down Unit (SDU)

Location

San Luis Obispo, CA | Step Down Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (0700–1930) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and provide nursing care to patients in the step down unit across all populations served
• Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage patient care during life-threatening emergencies
• Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
• Utilize Epic electronic health records system for documentation and care coordination
• Float to Medical-Surgical unit as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per facility policy
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS) from an approved vendor per facility policy
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 6 months of hire
• Associate Degree in Nursing (A.S.) or equivalent
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Successful completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia Course and/or Critical Care Course
• Minimum 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience within the last 2 years
