Growing manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Mechanical Designer to turn customer needs, concepts, and production feedback into practical, manufacturable products.

(Direct Hire)

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, BOMs, and production documentation.
• Turn concepts, sketches, and customer requirements into finished designs.
• Develop design options while balancing strength, cost, weight, appearance, and manufacturability.
• Work directly with production to solve problems, reduce rework, and improve products and processes.
• Support new product development and custom projects.
• Work with vendors and suppliers on components, fabrication, and design changes.
• Follow projects through production and improve designs based on real-world feedback.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve quality and ease of manufacturing.

What We're Looking For

• Strong SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD experience.
• Understanding of mechanical design, fabricated metal, welding, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to understand forces, load paths, material selection, and practical design considerations.
• Ability to balance performance, cost, weight, and manufacturability.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-directed, practical, and comfortable working directly with production.
• Able to take ownership of projects and move them forward without constant direction.

Experience with manufactured equipment, machinery, vehicles, agricultural products, fabricated products, or similar mechanical systems is a plus.

A two-year technical degree in mechanical design, engineering technology, manufacturing, CAD, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
