This role blends technical expertise with meaningful impact, working alongside veterinarians and a dedicated team to provide efficient, humane, and professional care in a fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do Oversee pre-, peri-, and post-operative care for high-volume surgical patients Monitor anesthesia, track vital signs, and respond confidently to medical changes or emergencies Assist veterinarians during surgery and perform technical tasks such as catheter placement and sample analysis Safely handle and document controlled substances with accuracy and compliance Communicate clearly with clients, providing discharge instructions and education Train veterinary assistants and volunteers on patient care protocols and best practices What You’ll Bring You are a licensed veterinary technician in Washington State with strong clinical skills and a calm, focused approach under pressure. You communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues, and you take pride in delivering high standards of care. You’re detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of making sound decisions in dynamic situations. Work Environment This is a highly active, hands-on role requiring extended periods of standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs. with assistance), bending, and working in clinical and surgical settings. You’ll be exposed to medical equipment, cleaning agents, and potentially challenging animal behaviors.
