Patient Billing/Services Representative II - Orthopedic Surgery

Location Chesterfield, MO 63017 Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary This position greets patients upon their arrival. Duties include check-in, check-out, scheduling appointments, ensuring insurance is verified and referrals are obtained, ensuring appropriate registration information is entered correctly and in a timely manner. Assists with maintaining patient flow in a fast paced clinical office. This position will require evening hours and weekends in our Orthopedic Injury Clinic. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for greeting, registering and checking in New, Return and Walk-in patients. Will also check-out and schedule appointments. Updates and verifies patient insurance, referrals and demographic information in EPIC as needed. Collects copays, self-pay payments and fees for services as needed. Balances cash drawer daily. Serves as back up for other staff during peak times, vacations and illnesses. Travel to other locations may be required. Maintains familiarity with insurance companies and their requirements. Adheres to HIPAA regulations and all Orthopedic/front desk policies. Performs other duties as assigned. More About This Job Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
