About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: CT Duration: 5 years Shift: Day Shift: 7a - 7:30p M-W Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two (2) years of CT scanning experience required License: ARRT(CT) and license for practicing state Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - CT SCANNING - HUMAN ANATOMY - PHYSIOLOGY - IMAGE QUALITY - PATIENT POSITIONING Description: The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as well as image quality. Applies professional knowledge to prepare patients for procedures, educate them, and respond to their questions or concerns. Ensures age-appropriate communication and addresses safety needs while providing patient education. Demonstrates understanding of patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students while providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training. Verifies the ordered exam and appropriateness utilizing assessment data and principles of growth and development. Administers contrast as directed. Positions the patient and equipment to achieve optimal images. Works with physicians to evaluate images and determine if additional images are necessary. Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff. Prepares patients for procedures, educates them, and responds to questions or concerns, ensuring an age-appropriate approach to communication and patient education.
