Fuel & Propane DriverThe Fuel & Propane Driver delivers refined fuel and propane products to established customers by assigned routes while operating and maintaining truck in a safe manner. The Driver also performs service work including tank set, tank painting, and plant maintenance as assigned.MFA Oil Company is an Equal Opportunity/Drug-Free Employer.ResponsibilitiesDeliver refined fuel products and propane in a defined local territory, completing daily routes as assigned by the managerMaintain proper terminal access to load refined fuel and/or propane at terminal, if applicableSafely operate vehicle according to MFA Oil Company policies and guidelines, state and federal transportation laws, and other related regulationsProperly use handheld systems to ensure accurate deliveriesAt the customer facility, safely access, pull, and connect fuel hoses to deliver fuel, then properly stow hoses for transportIdentify and timely communicate to management issues and feedback related to safety, efficiency, training needs and customer needs, questions, or concernsInspect customer installations to ensure safe, dependable operationsConduct pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsPresent a positive image of MFA Oil Company to the community and be knowledgeable about all products and services offered by the companySupport and understand company policies and procedures and be able to communicate those to customers as neededMaintain all required certificationsMaintain truck in a neat and clean conditionPerform service work (tank set, tank painting, plant maintenance) as directed by the managerAll MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assignedJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility and willingness to work with hazardous materialsAbility and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) servedValid driver's licenseAbility and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements per the vehicle requirementsAbility to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employmentAbility to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditionsAbility to move equipment and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 100 poundsAbility to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shiftAbility to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucksAbility to ascend and descend ladders to deliver fuelAbility to learn new concepts and use technical materialsVision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odorsAbility to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company customers in EnglishAbility to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, including handheld delivery tracking deviceAbility to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditionsAvailability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as neededReliable transportation to workLegal authorization to work in the United States of America21 years of age or olderAbility to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road testPreferred SkillsAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to work under timelines and pressureGood communication skillsCustomer service skills, including the ability to establish rapport with customersSales abilitiesAbout MFA Oil CompanyMFA Oil Company, formed in 1929, is a farmer-owned cooperative and a leading propane retailer in the United States.
