Responsibilities Assist in running weekend and night shifts including making sandwiches quickly and accurately, operating a meat slicer, completing cleaning tasks outlined in operating procedures, and overseeing staff training. Compensation Managers in Training start at $14 an hour. After training, raises are based on performance and a monthly bonus is earned when running shifts. Training & Progression Training lasts roughly four weeks: two weeks of general knowledge followed by two weeks of running shifts. Progression goes from Manager in Training to Second Assistant (three to five closing shifts a week, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm) to First Assistant (two closing shifts and three opening shifts, 6:00 am–3:00 pm). Assistant Managers may work up to 40 hours. First Assistants are groomed for future General Manager positions.
