JOB SUMMARY Lead and coordinate field and lab efforts to assess population status for amphibian and reptile species, and provide support for vegetation sampling. The position will coordinate with graduate students to support their project development, and provide oversight for seasonal field technicians. JOB DUTIES 20% - Perform or assist with data entry, statistical analysis, literature review, maintenance of field equipment and vehicles, and generation of reports and publications. 30% - Manage amphibian, reptile, snail, and vegetation projects; conduct field work in challenging, remote environments with minimal supervision. 20% - Lead and provide technical support and training to project staff, interns, seasonal technicians, and students on forest and wetland habitat or species assessment. 30% - Assist faculty, staff, and students on forest and wetland projects, including coordination of field data collection and supervision of field crews consisting of students, technicians, interns, or other partners.

EMPLOYEE TYPE Time-Limited (TLP) Staff Minimum Requirements A bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, wildlife management or related technical area and experience in fish, wildlife or marine resource management or research programs. A master's degree in biology, chemistry or wildlife management may be substituted for the required work experience. RESPONSIBILITIES JOB KNOWLEDGE Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work. ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
