Special Education Job Coach/ParaeducatorReporting directly to the Special Education Teacher, The Special Education Job Coach provides training and support for students to ensure success during work experiences. The Special Education Job Coach, consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) and transition plan, assists the Special Education Teacher to secure job placements, analyze and modify job tasks; provide employability skills instruction; conduct student observations and assessments; and work collaboratively with worksite employees. Reporting directly to the Special Education Teacher, the Special Education Paraeducator is responsible for supporting and assisting students with disabilities in various school settings. The Special Education Paraeducator, consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or individual family service plan (IFSP) assists the Special Education Teacher with lesson plan preparation; one-on-one and small group instruction; classroom management; student observation and assessment; and communication with parents and staff.Salary: The full salary range for this position is $21.27 - $26.31 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range. Assignment/Location: We are recruiting for two Special Education Job Coach/Paraeducators to serve our STEPS program in Longview, WA. These positions work 33.5 hours per week, on a school year schedule. May attend parent conferences.Special Education ParaeducatorAssist the Special Education Teacher, consistent with IEP or IFSP goals, in lesson plan preparation; one-on-one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; communication with parents and staff, in a variety of school settings.Supervise students.Collect data and report student progress.Maintain accurate data collection records.Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.Provide positive behavior management support, consistent with the IEP or IFSP.Attend to the physical needs of students, including moving and positioning students & assisting with personal hygiene needs.Participate in staff meetings, inservice programs, workshops and seminars.Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.Other Functions:Other duties as assignedMinimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED.Must meet one of the following educational requirements: Associate's Degree OR48 sem./72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university; ORPassing score of 455 on the ParaPro Assessment; ORPassing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment; OR65% on The Master Teacher, Inc.
