Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a Preoperative Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients during the preoperative process.Unit OverviewUnit Type: Preoperative UnitNumber of Beds: 10 roomsNurse to Patient Ratios: 1:3 with 5-30 cases per dayStaffing: 3 RNs including a charge nurseEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide nursing care for patients undergoing various procedures, including general surgeries, endoscopic procedures, and more.Ensure patient safety and comfort before surgery.Conduct preoperative assessments and prepare patients for procedures.Monitor vital signs and administer medications as necessary.Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver comprehensive care.Assist with Phase 2 recovery when needed.Participate in educational and training activities.QualificationsCurrent nursing licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably in a preoperative or surgical environment.Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA).Experience with IV starts is preferred.Candidates must pass a Dysrhythmia competency assessment (minimum 83%) before signing the contract.Shift InformationShift Length: 8-hour shiftsSchedule: Monday to Friday, 6 AM - 2:30 PMWeekend Requirements: 1 weekend per month with options for self-sign-up.Call Requirements: May be required to participate in call with a response time of 30 minutes.Additional InformationPreceptor support and orientation (1-2 days) will be provided.Must be open to floating between multiple locations within the region.Dress code adherence to navy blue scrubs is required.Strong emphasis on attendance and reliability; excessive call-outs may lead to termination.This is a vital role within the Preoperative Unit, and the selected candidate will contribute to the well-being and recovery of surgical patients in a supportive and collaborative environment.
