Director of Accounting

DescriptionKforce's client, a growing real estate organization in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and financial planning. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an accounting professional with strong real estate development experience. Responsibilities:* Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations* Ensure compliance with government funding, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements* Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger and accounts payable, while partnering closely with accounts receivable* Manage annual financial and compliance audits* Oversee cash flow management, construction draws, capitalization, and cost allocations for lease-up projects* Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, internal processes, and financial controls* Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve financial efficiency* Provide financial insights and risk-management recommendations to senior leadership* Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while strengthening financial knowledge across the organization* Partner cross-functionally to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial informationRequirements* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field* CPA or MBA preferred* 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role* Strong background in real estate development accounting and affordable housing finance* Experience with government-funded projects* Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, SAGE, or similar accounting systems, plus advanced Excel skills* Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills* Valid driver's license requiredJob TypeDirect HireCompensation145000 - $155000
