Role Description The Senior Payroll & Accounting Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in West St Paul, MN. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, including data entry, review, and approval of payroll cycles, as well as ensuring accurate calculation of wages, benefits, deductions, and garnishments. The specialist maintains compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, coordinates with payroll service providers, and reconciles payroll-related accounts. Daily responsibilities include maintaining employee payroll records, responding to payroll inquiries, preparing reports for leadership, and supporting audits and month-end closing activities. The role collaborates closely with HR and finance team members to improve processes, maintain internal controls, and support timely, accurate financial operations for the organization. Qualifications Strong payroll processing skills, including Payroll Processing and Payroll Administration. Experience managing Payroll Taxes and working with external Payroll Services. Knowledge of Garnishments and related compliance requirements. Proficiency with payroll and accounting software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools. Understanding of basic accounting principles, general ledger entries, and reconciliations. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information. Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. Relevant experience in payroll and accounting, preferably in healthcare or senior living settings.
