Registered Nurse - General Observation (Nights)

Location: Ohio

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Straight Nights 7 PM - 7:30 AM; Every Other Weekend and Holiday, On Call per Unit Needs.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide critical observation and care for patients in a General Observation unit that experiences high patient turnover, often accommodating ED-to-admit patients. This role involves close collaboration with healthcare team members to ensure ongoing assessment and management of patient conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor vital signs and assess patient's physical condition.
• Document and report significant changes in patient conditions promptly to the medical team.
• Administer medications and provide basic nursing care as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and comfort measures.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and care instructions.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations, providing initial care and stabilization.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
• Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in patient monitoring, basic care procedures, and emergency response is desirable.
