The 105-bed acute care facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical services, including a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, cardiac catheterization lab, interventional radiology suite, and expanded surgery suites. Radiologic technologists here work alongside radiologists, nurses, and fellow imaging professionals in a culture that emphasizes continuing education and professional development. What You Will Do Daily responsibilities span patient interaction, image production, and clinical coordination. Key duties include: Explaining procedures to patients or guardians before exams and positioning them correctly for the anatomical area of interest Performing complex procedures with age-related criteria and developmental considerations Assisting radiologists with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique Processing and manipulating images, analyzing quality, and making technique adjustments or repeating procedures as needed Coordinating with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities for seamless patient flow Beyond operating imaging equipment, technologists prepare examination rooms with appropriate supplies, verify physician orders through time-out protocols, administer contrast media per medication guidelines, and demonstrate knowledge of quality control and regulatory standards. The role also requires respectful communication with co-workers and other departments.
