The people of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) are united by a singular mission: ending cancer for life. Our specialized care teams provide personalized, compassionate, expert care to patients of all ages. Informed by basic research done at our Sloan Kettering Institute, scientists across MSK collaborate to conduct innovative translational and clinical research that is driving a revolution in our understanding of cancer as a disease and improving the ability to prevent, diagnose, and treat it. MSK is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians, who go on to pursue our mission at MSK and around the globe.

This is a 12-month post-graduate accredited training program beginning October 19th, 2026 for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who wish to transition into oncology-based care. The fellowship provides support and training during the transition to practice period, allowing Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellows to build confidence and knowledge in clinical sub-specialties.

The program is open to newly graduated APPs (NPs and PAs), as well as those with prior experience as an APP. The fellowship is especially well-suited for those looking to gain specialty exposure to oncology and those eager for an immersive learning experience.

• Hematology/Oncology
• Neurology/Neurosurgery
• Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
• Perioperative and Specialized Care
• Psycho-Oncology
• Solid Tumor Medical Oncology
• Surgical Oncology
• UPDATE: Geriatric Oncology was previously offered but is no longer available for this year

Fellow Clinical Responsibilities Will Include:

• Gathering a comprehensive patient history
• Performing a comprehensive physical examination
• Ordering and analyzing laboratory and diagnostic studies
• Formulating differential diagnoses, offering rationale for clinical decisions, and implementing treatment plans
• Evaluating patient response to treatment
• Coordination of patient care
• Active participation within the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Accurate and complete documentation of patient encounters
• Performing procedures
• Participation in didactic learning experiences, including projects and presentations

Work Hours:

• Fellows may be asked to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Average work week is about 50 hours to include clinical learning and protected didactic learning time.

• You are a highly motivated critical thinker with a strong desire to care for the oncology patient population. You are empathetic, resourceful, communicate well, and enjoy working interprofessionally. You are seeking a fellowship position in an environment that fosters mutual respect, leadership, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Key Qualifications:

• Have current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) licenses or a Physician Assistant (PA) license
• Be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner, and/or Physician Assistant program in the United States
• Have appropriate NP/PA board certification as indicated on our webpage

**Please note, in order to be considered for this year's program, you must apply for state NP/PA licensure by May 19th, 2026, and you must pass your board exam. PA candidates board exam deadline: May 19th, 2026. NP candidates board exam deadline: June 14th, 2026.

Fellowship Stipend:

• $100,000

• APP Fellows are eligible for clinical trainee benefits.
• While not a guarantee, fellows are eligible to apply for MSK housing.

We are seeking evidence of your qualifications and aptitude as well as your ability to communicate clearly and professionally. In addition, applicants should clearly articulate their primary subspecialty of interest and describe why they are selecting this track, including any relevant experiences, exposures, or career goals that have informed this decision. Personal statements should be no more than 500 words, typed, and double spaced using 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font.
