Project Manager

The client is a growing general contractor supporting commercial, industrial, build-out, and ground-up construction projects. The organization has built its business around strong client relationships, practical problem-solving, disciplined execution, and reliable subcontractor partnerships. Because the client operates as a general contractor rather than self-performing construction scopes, successful project execution depends heavily on strong planning, subcontractor coordination, field partnership, financial controls, documentation, and client communication.

The Project Manager will independently manage assigned construction projects from initial planning and project setup through execution, turnover, and closeout. You'll own the day-to-day performance of projects across schedule, budget, quality, safety, documentation, subcontractor coordination, and client communication. Responsibilities include reviewing contracts and drawings, developing budgets and schedules, managing RFIs and submittals, preparing and tracking change orders, reviewing subcontractor invoices, preparing owner pay applications, managing lien waivers, monitoring project costs, conducting milestone site visits, and ensuring complete project closeout.

You'll work closely with superintendents to coordinate manpower, inspections, logistics, sequencing, subcontractors, and jobsite readiness while serving as a central point of communication between owners, architects, engineers, vendors, accounting, and internal leadership. This isn't simply an administrative PM position-you'll identify risks early, solve typical project problems independently, protect project margin, and bring leadership recommendations rather than simply escalating problems.

This opportunity is particularly well suited for military leaders with experience in construction, engineering, facilities, project/program management, logistics, maintenance, or operational planning who have transitioned into-or already have direct experience with-commercial construction. Strong military backgrounds could include Navy Seabees, Civil Engineer Corps, Army Engineers, Air Force Civil Engineering, Marine Corps engineering/construction leadership, facilities/public works personnel, and military project or program managers.

The strongest candidates will combine that leadership foundation with experience understanding construction drawings, schedules, budgets, subcontractor coordination, change management, project documentation, and field execution. Veterans accustomed to coordinating multiple organizations, maintaining accountability for cost and schedule, solving problems with incomplete information, and briefing leadership with recommended courses of action should find the operating environment very familiar.

This is a full-time construction project management position. Project Managers partner closely with field superintendents and conduct milestone site visits to verify critical work such as underslab rough-in, in-wall MEP completion, finish progress, and pre-turnover readiness. Following site visits, you'll be expected to quickly document findings, photographs, plan markups, incomplete work, and required corrective actions. The position also requires disciplined use of construction technology and project controls. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, Adobe, or similar systems is valuable. Candidates should generally bring 3-7+ years of construction project management experience, although equivalent construction experience can be considered in place of the preferred bachelor's degree.
