HR Generalist

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Human Resource Generalist on behalf of our client, a privately owned company specializing in full-service dining solutions. The Human Resource Generalist will support the Senior Human Resources Manager in managing day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, employee relations, offboarding, compliance, and employee development. This role will play an important part in ensuring a positive employee experience while maintaining accurate records and compliance with employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the new hire and onboarding process from offer acceptance through successful integration.
• Perform routine administrative and operational tasks supporting the HR department.
• Maintain accurate employee and HR files in accordance with legal retention and security requirements.
• Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters when appropriate.
• Participate in employee disciplinary meetings and workplace investigations.
• Own and coordinate the termination and offboarding process.
• Support payroll processing and related HR administration.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Assist with reviewing and updating HR policies and practices to support compliance.
• Collaborate with the Senior Human Resources Manager to improve and streamline HR processes.
• Assist with employee training and development initiatives.
• Support employee relations, counseling, and other HR-related matters.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
• Perform other HR duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements include:
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of human resources experience preferred.
• Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and HR administration.
• Experience working with HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems preferred.

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and delegate when appropriate.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate HRIS, payroll, and ATS systems.

Certifications:

• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

Knowledge:

• Thorough understanding of human resources practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Understanding of employee records management, retention, and confidentiality requirements.
• Knowledge of onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, payroll, and HR compliance processes.
