Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery. License: GA or Compact license required at time of submission. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP required. AWHONN Intermediate preferred. Must-Have: Experience in labor, vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum care. Ability to work in a team-based unit. Description: We are seeking experienced labor and delivery nurses. The ideal candidate should be motivated and enjoy working in a team environment. The patient population includes neonates, infants, and adults. Experience must include handling labor, C-sections, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage. Familiarity with pregnancy-induced hypertension is required. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1 to 1:2. The unit has 16 labor and delivery beds with an average daily census of 15. Candidates must have experience using the Epic charting system. The nurse will be expected to participate in call requirements. Two calls are required every six weeks for AM and PM shifts. Travelers will be expected to work major holidays as per assignment. A maximum of 7 days off is allowed during the contract period. Full compliance is required to start on time. The ideal candidate should have strong skills in administering medications, performing procedures, and providing postpartum care. Experience with high-risk antepartum patients and fetal monitoring is essential. Applicants should be knowledgeable about the recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Candidates must have experience with labor and delivery triage. The ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and assist with high-risk deliveries is necessary.
