Senior Medical Science Liaison, Lupus - Southern CA, AZ, NM, UT, CO

Senior Medical Science Liaison position within Biogen's US Medical Affairs team, responsible for engaging key medical experts and healthcare professionals across a five-state territory covering Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado to advance clinical understanding of lupus therapies.

Responsibilities

• Establish credible medical expertise and build strategic long-term relationships with key medical experts and healthcare professionals
• Develop and execute KME engagement plans that deliver high-value clinical and scientific insights aligned to medical strategy
• Capture and report medical insights using Veeva systems with accuracy and consistency to inform clinical strategies
• Serve as responsive, solutions-driven partner addressing scientific and business challenges across the medical community
• Meet qualitative and quantitative performance goals and KPI targets while maintaining ethical standards

Requirements

• Advanced scientific or clinical degree; doctoral degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP) strongly preferred
• 3+ years of rheumatology or dermatology medical science liaison experience
• Residence required within the assigned territory (Southern CA, AZ, NM, UT, CO)
• Clinical expertise and subject matter knowledge in systemic or cutaneous lupus preferred
• Ability to travel at least 60% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and authorization to operate company vehicles
• Demonstrated effective communication, digital proficiency, and strong accountability to performance metrics

Compensation: $165,000–$220,500 base
