Senior Account Director

A leading healthcare focused publication is seeking a Senior Account Director to lead complex client programs from kickoff through execution. This role combines client management, cross-functional project leadership, team mentorship, and program oversight across content, digital, marketing, and multimedia initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized account leader who excels at managing multiple stakeholders, keeping projects on track, and serving as the central point of coordination between clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Project Management

• Lead marketing and content programs from initiation through delivery
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
• Manage workflows across content, creative, marketing, production, and technical teams
• Oversee review cycles, stakeholder approvals, and project milestones
• Identify risks, resolve roadblocks, and ensure projects remain on schedule
• Maintain project status updates and communicate priorities across teams

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for key client accounts
• Lead project kickoffs, status meetings, and strategic planning discussions
• Manage client expectations and provide proactive communication throughout project lifecycles
• Present campaign outcomes, performance insights, and recommendations
• Mentor and support junior account and project management team members
• Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams and external partners
• Help establish best practices for project execution and client service

Campaign & Program Execution

• Cross collaborate with creative, editors, and strategists to plan and launch content, digital marketing, educational, and multimedia initiatives
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, external contributors, and agency partners
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and client objectives

Business Growth & Strategic Support

• Partner with company leadership to analyze new business opportunities and create pitch ideas to grow existing business
• Build relationships with and coordinate with KOLs on clinical programming
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and create a positive experience for clients

Qualifications

• 5-9+ years of account management, client services, or project management experience within an agency or consulting environment
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects
• Experience managing external client relationships and executive-level communications
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and competing priorities
• Team leadership or people management experience preferred
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, professional education, or related industries is a plus
