PACU RN

RN – PACU | UCHealth Greeley Hospital | Greeley, CO The PACU RN provides direct, top-of-scope nursing care to patients in the immediate post-anesthesia recovery phase utilizing the nursing process in a fast-paced perioperative environment. Practice is guided by AORN and ABPANC core curriculum and evidence-based standards. Responsibilities Monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, airway patency, and hemodynamic stability post-surgery. Assess for and respond to complications including pain, nausea, hemorrhage, respiratory depression, and emergence delirium. Administer analgesics, antiemetics, and reversal agents. Manage Phase I and Phase II recovery care. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative team. Educate patients and families on post‑op care and discharge instructions. Document assessments and interventions in EHR. Precept new staff. Requirements Active Colorado RN license. BLS required. ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire. Minimum 6 months RN experience.
