Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians for two full-time locum tenens openings in Seattle, Washington .

This is a compelling opportunity for experienced EM physicians who value the clinical depth of hospital-based emergency medicine without a high-volume patient load. Physicians can expect approximately 8–14 patients per day , with a predominantly medical case mix, low trauma volume, and medium-to-high acuity presentations.

The need is substantial and long-term, with ongoing coverage anticipated through 2027 , approximately 15 shifts per month preferred, multiple shift structures, Epic EMR, dedicated RN support, and emergency/temporary privileges available for qualified physicians.

Schedule

Full-time physicians should be comfortable rotating among varied shifts according to coverage needs.

Current shift structures include:

• AM: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM Monday–Friday
• AM Weekends: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
• Mid: 11:00 AM–8:00 PM daily
• PM: 2:00 PM–11:00 PM Monday–Friday
• PM Weekends: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
• Future coverage may include 6:00 PM–3:00 AM or 10:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Some holiday coverage required

Clinical Scope & Practice Environment

Physicians will evaluate, stabilize, treat, and disposition emergency patients across a broad range of medical presentations. The environment combines a relatively manageable daily patient count with meaningful clinical acuity and the resources of a hospital-based emergency department.

The emergency department offers access to advanced hospital resources, including cardiac and stroke capabilities, observation services, and pathways for lower-complexity emergency presentations.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluation and treatment of emergency patients
• Management of a broad spectrum of emergency medical conditions
• Patient stabilization and disposition
• Coordination with consultants and hospitalists
• Collaboration with physicians, RNs, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Effective transitions of care and patient handoffs
• Participation in quality-improvement initiatives

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Active, unrestricted Washington medical license
• ABEM/AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Emergency Medicine residency/fellowship training required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience
• Active DEA
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Clean background and malpractice history
• No licensing actions
• Ability to accommodate varied shift coverage
