Registrar - PRN

JOB LOCATION - Wilkes-Barre General Hospital JOB SHIFT – PRN (1st/2nd or 3rd shift) JOB PURPOSE The Admissions Representative is responsible for all registration functions related to patients presenting for admissions, emergency care, short stay, and outpatient services including obtaining/verifying patient demographic information and insurance, obtaining required signatures, and the collection of applicable co-pays, deductibles, and deposits. The representative may also be responsible for the coordination of bed assignments for patients, including transfers, direct admits, ER admits, etc. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education High School graduate Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes Data entry and/or secretary/receptionist experience helpful. Up to 6 months of on-the-job training plus periodic updating is provided. Previous experience in customer service or healthcare environments is beneficial. Communication skills, clerical accuracy, Public Relations aptitudes, scheduling, and sound judgment. Ability to do several tasks simultaneously, handle multiple priorities with interruption, and complete accurately and timely. Good telephone manners.
