Designer - Junior

Overview As a Gensler Junior Designer with our dynamic Tampa team, you will combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions and coordinate design through the construction documentation and construction administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. Your work ethic, dedication to collaboration, and ability to translate sketches into realized 2D/3D models and images will help you thrive in this role. Responsibilities Collaborate on base building and interior architecture and interior design projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and budgeting/scheduling. Coordinate with Interior Designers, Project Architects, and Project Managers to deliver project milestones. Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts. Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to meet project objectives. Produce graphic presentations, including 3D renderings and construction drawings. Contribute to the production of plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction. Provide technical support and documentation throughout all phases of project work. Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination. Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships. Perform tasks in the Tampa office; remote or hybrid work is not offered. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program. 0–5 years of relevant experience with interior architecture and/or ground‑up building architecture (ideally both). Proficiency with Revit. Demonstrated experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD 3‑D, Enscape, VRay, Grasshopper, Rhino or similar visualization software. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or SPEXX (a plus). Hand‑rendering skills to communicate design concepts (a plus). Knowledge of the design process, including FF+E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials. Strong visualization skills and good design sensibility. Conceptual 3‑dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas. Ability to focus on concurrent projects at various stages of development. Excellent communication and direction‑setting abilities. Quick learner who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. Strong organization, communication, and relationship‑management skills. Commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; portfolio should include at least one project with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL, Fitwel, or Net‑Zero certification.
