The facility supports continuous learning and development to help clinical staff grow in their careers. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Charge Nurse role located in Mexia, TX. The Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating and overseeing nursing care on an assigned unit, including supervising nursing staff during the shift to ensure safe, high-quality resident care. Daily tasks include assessing residents, administering medications and treatments, monitoring changes in condition, and communicating with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members. The Charge Nurse reviews and updates care plans, ensures accurate and timely documentation, and helps maintain compliance with facility policies, state, and federal regulations. This role also involves mentoring and supporting nursing assistants, addressing resident or family concerns, participating in shift reports, and promoting a positive, resident-centered environment. Qualifications Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) license in the state of Texas. Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise nursing staff, delegate tasks appropriately, and foster a collaborative team culture. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solution skills with the ability to respond effectively to changing resident conditions. Proficient in accurate, timely documentation and comfortable using electronic health records or similar systems. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of infection control, resident rights, and regulatory standards relevant to skilled nursing facilities. Ability to work full-time on-site, including potential evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
