Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float Pool)

Newport News, VA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry float pool setting across designated units
• Float to various units based on facility needs
• Perform accurate and timely clinical documentation using EPIC
• Adhere to unit-specific protocols and maintain specialty competencies in Med/Surg and Telemetry care
• Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license — Virginia state license required to be in hand at submittal, or proof of a valid Compact license
• EPIC charting experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIH and stroke education required
• Specialty experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry within the last year required
• One supervisory reference required at time of submittal
• SSN required at time of submittal
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same base rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an acute care hospital float pool environment
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Strong adaptability and ability to transition between units efficiently
