Vaccines Account Manager - Riverside County and San Bernardino County

Position Summary The Vaccine Account Manager (VAM) is responsible for owning the B2B customer relationship within large and complex healthcare delivery networks, such as Health Systems, State CDC Awardees, major health departments, and Federally Qualified Health Systems. The VAM serves as the primary liaison with key decision makers, engages clinical & non‑clinical stakeholders to uncover customer needs, and delivers a customized value proposition. The role requires strong customer engagement skills, knowledge of healthcare contracting, and the ability to collaborate across internal and external stakeholders to drive optimal vaccine access and sales growth. Responsibilities Build partnerships with large‑organized customers, including Health Systems, public awardees, and FQHCs, and key decision makers. Identify customer objectives and how vaccination efforts can support those goals. Develop robust, customer‑specific business plans that lead to Good Selling Outcomes (GSO). Navigate complex organizational structures to advance vaccine access, formulary status, policy, and stocking initiatives. Advance public sector immunization efforts and address local policy shifts; represent needs to Field and HQ leadership for timely support. Manage key accounts through comprehensive business reviews, contract performance discussions, and by organizing educational programs and attending customer meetings and medical conferences. Achieve or exceed customer‑specific targets, including volume, IZ rates, market share, and annual sales goals for the vaccine portfolio. Define and attain customer‑specific objectives and KPIs for success. Support the contracting process in partnership with Contracting Specialists. Execute consultative selling processes to position vaccines as a leading intervention. Serve as the “quarterback” for VBU needs, coordinating with Sales leadership and supporting local Sales teams within the customer network. Support vaccination programs across channels, including retail pharmacy referrals and digital platforms. Partner with internal teams—Contracting Specialists, OPAS/HSDs, Medical Affairs, Marketing—to offer relevant resources and present the clinical, economic, and operational value of vaccines. Collaborate with Market Access to address coverage, reimbursement, and contracting challenges. Develop expertise in vaccines, disease states, immunization guidelines, and the competitive landscape. Provide evidence‑based clinical education to healthcare professionals on vaccine efficacy, safety, and administration protocols. Stay current with CDC guidelines, Medical Society recommendations, and health quality metrics. Analyze key account performance, market trends, competitive activities, and formulary landscape to identify growth opportunities. Provide market feedback to internal stakeholders on positioning and pricing. Maintain detailed customer interaction records in CRM systems. Complete required training, certifications, and compliance modules. Ensure all promotional activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations and company policies. Track and report annual sales target achievement, stakeholder mapping completion, decision‑maker access, IZ rates, market shares, contract performance, and field/account coverage metrics. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Sales, Marketing, Payer, or Business Development. Account management and/or vaccine experience. Valid driver’s license. Travel required: up to 50% (based on district size). Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in business, public health, hospital administration, or a related field. Previous vaccine sales experience. Deep knowledge of contracting in the healthcare industry. Expertise in the vaccines marketplace, GSK and competitive portfolios, and customers. Deep knowledge of the Health Systems business model, organizational structure, key stakeholder roles, and decision‑making processes. Experience calling on C/D level stakeholders within large, complex healthcare delivery networks. Experience with lateral leadership in a highly matrixed organization. Key Skills & Competencies Advanced business acumen and analytical skills to diagnose opportunities. Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills to work with large customers. Ability to translate strategy to local level business and strategic account plans. Impact and influence with other Sales leaders and representatives to mobilize action plans for priority customers.
