Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, HWC Must-Have Skills/Experience: Basic EKG interpretation 2 or more years in Medical Surgical Description: This position involves working in a medical/surgical environment. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Common diagnoses and treatments include pneumonia, chest pain, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, post-operative care for hip and shoulder surgeries, transurethral resection of the prostate, and general surgeries. The nursing staff will care for patients with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. Equipment used in this unit includes sequential compression devices, IV pumps, and electronic health records systems. A successful candidate will have experience working with a variety of medical conditions and treatments. Basic skills in EKG interpretation are required. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication and patient care skills. The dress code for this position includes scrubs in grey, black, or blue. Additionally, there are no unacceptable attire guidelines for this role.
