We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks.Some of the key responsibilities may include:Civil design, landfill design, and site layout;Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage;Dam inspections, evaluation, and design;Geotechnical and environmental site characterization;Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;Project/task management and proposal preparation support;Construction quality assurance oversight and managementPreparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications; andFieldwork associated with design and construction services.Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.Education and LicensureBachelor's degree in civil, water resources or geotechnical engineering or a related field. (required)Advanced degree in earth science, geotechnical engineering or a related field. (preferred)Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.). (preferred)Skills, Experience and QualificationsAt least 7 years (8+ preferred) of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software (e.g., seepage and slope stability). (required)Knowledge of numerical modeling tools. (preferred)Design and construction experience (required);Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)Field work and overnight travel may be required.Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
