Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a Medical-Surgical setting, focusing on surgical patients including general, colo-rectal, bariatric, and plastic surgery cases. The RN will support postoperative and preoperative patient needs within a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor surgical patients' conditions, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute comprehensive care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and protocols adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.
• Educate patients and their families on postoperative care, recovery processes, and discharge instructions.
• Document clinical findings, treatment updates, and patient progress accurately and promptly.
• Assist in emergency situations, providing critical interventions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid registered nurse licensure with active state credentials.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a Med/Surg or surgical specialty unit.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Demonstrated competence in general, bariatric, colo-rectal, and plastic surgery patient care.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including holiday shifts.
