Trade Compliance Manager

Molecular Devices seeks a Trade Compliance Manager to oversee import and export regulations and lead tariff mitigation strategies across US and Canadian operations. The role involves managing compliance programs, collaborating cross-functionally, and identifying cost-avoidance opportunities while ensuring adherence to applicable trade laws.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day trade compliance operations for Molecular Devices in US and Canada
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, R&D, and Quality teams on compliance requirements and alignment
• Lead tariff mitigation and duty savings initiatives including free trade agreements and duty drawback programs
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve trade compliance programs, policies, and internal controls
• Identify and execute process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency and reduce regulatory risk exposure

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years in customs, export controls, or related compliance field
• Advanced expertise in US customs regulations including HTS classification and country of origin determination
• Proficient knowledge of US export regulations, EAR, OFAC sanctions, and ECCN classification
• Working knowledge of Canadian and EU import/export trade regulations
• Demonstrated experience implementing tariff mitigation strategies and duty reduction programs
• US Licensed Customs Broker certification strongly preferred
• Ability to travel approximately 20-30% to San Jose and other locations

Compensation: $130,000-$145,000 base, plus bonus/incentive pay
